ADKAR, But Make It Personal:

  • Jun 3

A Wednesday series on leading your own change first.

Most leaders know the ADKAR model as a change‑management tool for projects and organizations.

 A - Awareness

 D - Desire

 K - Knowledge

 A - Ability

 R - Reinforcement

What we don’t talk about as often is how powerful ADKAR becomes when you turn it inward.

🏹 Awareness of your own patterns, not just “the organization.”

🏹 Desire that’s rooted in what you actually want, not just what’s on the strategy slide.

🏹 Knowledge of the specific “how,” not generic advice.

🏹 Ability built through small, messy reps in real time, not in your head.

🏹 Reinforcement that keeps you from quietly sliding back into old habits.

Over the next five Wednesdays I’m going to walk through “ADKAR, But Make It Personal” – one letter at a time – through the lens of executive growth:

How to use each step to change something that actually matters in your leadership.

And then how to extend that same lens to your team, without turning it into another corporate program.

🏹 If you had to pick just one area where you’d genuinely like to lead yourself differently this year, what would it be?
